Under the cushions is an eight‑way hand‑tied spring system suspension commonly associated with higher‑end upholstery construction. Each coil spring is secured to the frame and tied by hand in eight directions, which helps the whole seat surface work together for more even support and better long‑term durability than common sinuous wire springs
